    Description

    Built in 1927, the Commander Hotel near Harvard University has an illustrious history in Cambridge. This 9.75 inch plate was made by Buffalo China for the original restaurant. The banner on one side depicts a large tree beneath the words "The Commander Hotel" with "at the elm" in fine print - a reference to the grandest of the elm trees that once graced Harvard Yard. The plate is in near mint condition with just a few surface utensil marks visible on close inspection.
