Vtg Hand Carved Wooden Folk Art CAT Tiger Anthropomorphic MASK

Description

Found in the estate belongings of a couple who traveled extensively to Latin America and Mexico in the late 1960s/early70s.
Hand carved and painted, no signature from artist.
Depicts a somewhat human looking cat, and given the stripes, possibly meant to imitate a tiger. Metallic string at back is probably not original to the piece. Paint is good!
I have not cleaned it besides a slight dusting.
Measures 8.5" tall x 7.25" widest.
Has wear commensurate with age, no serious flaws of note.
