It is a Universal Food Chopper manufactured by the Landers, Frary &Clark company.
The Universal Food Chopper was first sold by L.F. &C. in 1897, and proved to be so popular that the company still offered it in its catalog over sixty years later. It was marketed as a device that not only ground meat, but also processed vegetables. In a 1955 address to an audience in Connecticut the company's then chairman of the board remarked that with the introduction of the Universal Food Chopper to American kitchens in the late 19th century "Odds and ends could be turned into hashes and casseroles with ease..."
The number on the device referred to the size of the grinder, with the 3 model being the largest for heavy-duty use and the 00 model the smallest. The appliance originally came with three different blade attachments for fine, medium or coarse grinding. Made of cast-iron by L.F. &C. in New Britain, Connecticut many of these rugged grinders have survived to the present day, outliving the company who made them;L.F. &C. ended its 102 year run in 1965. Modern-made copies are still sold for those who prefer grinding their food by hand instead of using electric appliances.
ABOUT US:
Most of these items come from estate sales that I visit on weekends.  There’s really no rhyme or reason to what I have, it’s just stuff that I think looks cool and I hope others will agree.  I’m often asked what I’m looking for when I go and I always tell them that the items find me.  The other items are things from my personal collection, things I’ve bought and saved and at this point I really can’t display everything so I list them on ebay.  Make sure to view my other listings.  Thanks for shopping with us. VINTAGE:
Keep in mind that vintage or antique means the items are old & are being sold AS - IS. Vintage items will show at least some signs of wear & usage such as light scratches, minor chips, discoloration, scuffs, etc so Please view the photos & read the description carefully. I make every effort to describe items as accurately as possible however sometimes something small may unintentionally get overlooked. Please feel free to ask questions or ask for additional photos.
PAYMENT:
We accept PayPal ONLY.  Buy it Now items need to be paid immediately. If it is an auction, I ask the winning bidder to pay within 3 days.   Please communicate if there is going to be a delay in payment to see if arrangements can be made.
SHIPPING:
Once your payment is received, we ship within 2-3 business days.  We ship only to the PayPal address on file.  We ship ONLY to the Continental US.  No shipping to Alaska/Hawaii/Puerto Rico or APO/FPO address.  My listings always read Economy Shipping but most of the smalls ship via USPS Priority Mail, Large items usually ship Fed Ex Ground.  I try not to gouge anyone on shipping, by measuring and weighing items prior to shipping them, if it seems high it’s because that what was estimated using the ebay shipping calculator.
BEST OFFERS:
I like to think that I price things fairly but I offer a Best Offer option in all My Buy It Now items.
I am open to reasonable offers, eBay allows me to preset offers thresholds and I intentionally disable them so I can personally review every offer including what the shipping will cost.
Offering less than half of the listed price won’t even elicit a response from me, feel free to send those low offers but don’t expect a reply.
WATCH LIST:
If you add something to your watch list eBay allows me to send a special offer (ie: a price reduction) but it only goes to those that are watching an item.
If the item has been sitting, I will periodically send you an offer of a reduced price, but you do need to add it to your watch list.
CUSTOMER SERVICE:
If there is a problem, please send us a message directly through eBay BEFORE leaving negative feedback or filing a case to give us  chance to resolve the issue to your satisfaction.
PICK UP:
We do allow for pick up of an item that is listed with a separate shipping charge.  If there is a published shipping cost, and you want to pick it up, please give me time to send an invoice for you to pay from that excludes shipping.  If it's listed with Free Shipping, I can maybe knock off a couple bucks, but please communicate up front before you bid so we both know.
RETURNS:
Unless otherwise stated in the item description, we will refund an item MINUS the original shipping cost.
In some instances where I've totally misrepresented the item, I will also refund the original shipping cost I incurred shipping the item to you.  The pictures you see in the listing are of the actual item.  I always instruct buyers to ask questions before bidding or request a more specific picture(s) to avoid any misunderstanding.  If you do need to return and item, you must pay for return shipping. Please contact us within 7 days after delivery to return an item. Merchandise must be returned to us in its original condition within 30 days.
REFUNDS:
Refunds will be issued within 5 business days after receipt of returned item. All refunds will be sent via Paypal.
DAMAGED ITEMS:
Although we make every effort to pack items carefully, we cannot be solely responsible for items lost or damaged in shipping. I will make every effort to resolve this, but realize that damage claims take time to resolve.  Please contact me immediately so we can discuss and I may ask for you to send pictures of the damaged item for the actual claim.
