Vintage Rare Ampex 300 Reel To Reel Audio Tape Recorder Console Tube Tested

We're selling a super rare vintage 1953-1954 Ampex model 300 reel to reel audio tape recorder with original 'washing machine' metal cabinet.  The recorder has a full track mono head stock and the heads have a lot of wear (photos of the heads can be provided to interested buyers).  This unit has been slowly brought up on a variac and tested.  We found that it plays and records as is without any modifications or servicing.  The motor capacitors have leaked in the past but will definitely need replacing.  The metal cabinet has wear from use/storage like scratches, scuffs, dust and rust spots.  Inside the the cabinet, the electronics has wear from storage and there is some rust on the chassis.  Please note that the OD3 and 6J7 tubes are covered in a black tar material from the leaking caps.  This unit is being sold AS IS with the knowledge that it will need a full restoration before being used.  Please see the high-res photos for more details.
Included but not pictured: 2 sets of original Ampex hub NAB mounts and original Ampex 300 service Manual.
The meter panel has been cleaned and tested.  The original meter wasn't working so it was replaced a period correct vintage Ampex VU meter.
