Vintage JAGUAR Tigre Hand Painted Carved Wood South American Mask Wall Hanging

This incredibly beautiful and colorful vintage hand painted, hand carved Jaquar / El Tigre mask from South America measures about 10 3/4 inches long X 6 1/4 inches wide and about 4 inches high from a flat surface. The wood is amazingly light and the item weighs about 8 ounces by my postal scale. The colors are amazingly bright and beautiful with great detail, especially to the eyes. The shading to the muzzle is notable and the red interior of the mouth and ears striking. This is a mask that could be worn as it has "eye holes" for that purpose as well as a hole on each side to place a strap to tie it to ones head.  Cool.  A copper wire is attached inside the mask for hanging. There is a slight crack on the left side of the mask (see photo 8) and a little lost paint at the top of the mask - please see close up photos to be sure you are good with condition prior to purchase.  This is a stunning mask with character. It's appearance is almost grotesque, yet pleasing.  A great addition to any collection.
