Vintage 1940 Museum Quality Vintage Jaguar Leather Mask Guerrero Zitlala Mexico
In very good condition. Rare, Measures 19" wide x 13" high and 10" deep
These masks depict jaguars  used in ceremonies dedicated to a combative nature of feline/canine dances. Also used to enhance fertility and agriculture success. They are made of leather so they are like helmets to wear as there would be combat with sticks during the ceremony. Have some in red and green. Materials used are: leather, paint, mirror for eyes and boar bristles. They are hand-sewn, painted and fashioned by each individuals ideas.
