ITEM:Back in the 1980’s, after the Detroit Tigers had won the World Series (1984), the fans had a lot to cheer about. The local newspaper, The Detroit Free Press, started a project in their sports section to print small boxes called, “Tigers History”. These boxes measured 2 by 3 inches and each day they featured an event in the history of the team. They ran from April 7
th
to September 11
th
and featured a player’s picture with a corresponding write-up on what happened on that day in the past. This is what I think is an entire collection of these little gems. They may have missed a day or two (can’t remember that far back) but this was definitely a labor of love to clip each one for the entire season. Ready to find a new home!
