***I will be out of town from March 22-26. All items placed during this time will be shipped on Monday, March 29. I appreciate the understanding.Stunning historically accurate Queen Elizabeth I Portrait dress. This is an exact replica of one of Queen Elizabeth's gowns that she wore in a portrait painted of her when she was a teenager and still a Princess. Interestingly, this portrait was actually commissioned by her father, King Henry VIII. This outfit is also very special as it is historically accurate, so this is made in the exact way Elizabeth's clothes would have been made in the 16th century. In fact, the woman who made this dress has said it is the most historically accurate dress she has ever made. It's been a very hard decision to let it go! Costume was handmade by the brilliant Gina of Tudor Dreams Historical Costumier. You can check out her facebook page for more incredible designs. I have never wore this dress or displayed it, it has just sat in my closet since I purchased it. I purchased this intending to display it, but I sadly don't have the room or time to do so anymore. I hope this can go to someone who can actually wear it, or display it properly. This would also look amazing at a museum or on display in a classroom etc. Dress is made in beautiful red brocade fabric with gold under sleeves, and a white and gold kirtle--all decorated in beautiful imitation jewels. Truly an outfit fit for a princess!  This costume consists of four pieces--the kirtle, dress, under sleeves, and front panel or placard. How you would put this on is after putting on you chemise, you would put the kirtle on, which laces up at both sides. Next, the dress which laces up the front. After that, you would pin on the front placard, and then the French hood. Pinning on the under sleeves and placard is historically accurate as they did not have zippers or hooks yet. You can pin them on just using regular sewing pins. ***Please note, the dress is displayed with jewelry, a bum roll, chemise, hoop skirt, and French hood, all of which are not included in the sale. I would be more than happy to let you know where you can purchase these items. This is an amazing opportunity to own a wonderful historic costume! This would be fantastic for any history fan, historic re-enactor, or a fanatic gift for either! Costume is in amazing like-new condition. Like I said, I never wore it, but I know it was displayed at Berkeley Castle in England for some time (you can see it on display there in the photos). Besides that, I believe the costume was only worn once or twice to historical events around England. This dress is pretty tiny, I'm a US 4-6 and it doesn't fit me. I would say this is more for a US 2 or UK 4. This is, of course, is a replica of a teenage Queen Elizabeth I dress, so it makes sense why it's tiny. Meant for someone who is shorter in height as well. Unfortunately these outfits are very heavy and bulky to ship, which is why I have to charge so much for shipping. If it ends up being less than what I charged, I will refund you the difference. I will ship these overseas, but shipping will cost much more. You can message me for a quote beforehand if you'd like. Shop policies: Whenever buying vintage or antiques, there will always be some wear and age marks. No returns and no refunds.Shipping price is for within the USA only, international will cost more. Please message me after winning so I can adjust the invoice before you pay. Once a bid has been placed I cannot retract it. If you are a first time buyer with zero feedback, please message me before placing a big unless the bid will be removed. If you need anything at all, please do not hesitate to ask. I am happy to help.
