    Description

    This is a modern cedar Kwakiutl Alaskan mask with hair locks and leather hanging strap knotted on either side. The horsehair has two missing pieces at the top and one only missing at the left side.  The hair is gathered on either side with a tied leather band that is attached at the side of the face near the lip line. Colors are vivid and the painting is finely detailed.  The width of the mask is 6 inches, the height is 9 inches and the depth is 4 inches.  From the top to the end of the hair is 24 inches.  This is an exceptionally fine example of Kwakiutl ethnic art for collectors.
