    Description

    Hand painted Wood mask of a jaguar that was used in different ceremonial dances by the indigenous peoples of Oaxaca, Guerrero, Puebla, Chiapas, Tabasco, MX. The dance called the La Danza de la Tecuanes focused on the hunting and killing of the jaguar character which has been harassing the community.
    This mask is painted in brown, red, white and black. This mask is also lacquered. The mask is 8” tall x 8” wide x 6” deep.
