This dazzling piece, dating to the mid-20th-century, attests to the skill and imagination of Mexico's artisanal community. Impressive in dimension and detail, it depicts a Mayan mask, executed in punched copper and brass sheet metal, as well as art glass. From its golden "feathered" headdress, to translucent green glass eyes, surrounded by multitudes of fabulous, coiled eyelashes, from its striated facial "tattoos," to prominent open lips revealing hand-sawn teeth, and finally a pair of ornately tooled, dangling ear ornaments, the tribal visage comes brilliantly to life. Boasting exceptional craftsmanship, it makes for an exhilarating objet d'art—whether displayed on a wall, a shelf or in a showcase.

This is from my own personal collection and was for display only. It is in near-pristine vintage condition, free of dents, discolorations, scratches or repairs. It is rare to find this type of piece in such exceptional shape. The mask is fitted with an attachment on the back for easy hanging.
