    Description

    Mexican Handmade Mayan Aztec Stone Burial Death Mask Art Piece - Onyx Abalone.
    A beautiful Mexican mask, fully constructed from the minerals found in Mexico such as Onyx, Jasper, Abalone, mother of Pearl, Turquoise, Obsidian and quarts types. The front is highly polished and with various minerals intact. Great condtion.
    The Aztecs made masks for different rituals. The death masks had open mouths and were palced on the faces of dead nobles. The masks would also be worn during certain ceremonies.
    This is relatively new mask but it represents a historical view of a very dynamic kingdom.
