    Vintage Wood and Ram Horn Mexican Hand Carved Wood Devil Diablo

    Mask.  Don't know a lot about these but reportedly most are made in in Guerrero, Michoacán and Colima, Mexico.  Very skillfully crafted the Ram Horns (they appear real cannot state with certainty) are nailed into place (see pics).
    The Diablo Masks are used in various dances and representation during Christmas and Pastorela or Shephard's' plays which help tell story of shepherd on his way to visit Baby Jesus and being tempted by the Devil (something like that).   But the masks are not meant to offend and used to bring humor and amuse.  Anyway, it's a very cool piece and measures 15" from tip of horns to chin, and approx. 4" Deep.  Condition is good there is some paint missing and some scuffs on mask.   Zoom in on pics as part of description.
