Cougar or Leopard Mask Handmade

Description

This is a handmade cougar or leopard animal face mask or wall decoration. I am not sure what it is made out of. It could have been made from and as you can see, I am having a hard time trying to figure what the animal is.
Someone said that it may have been made from a gourd, but that is just a guess. It is hard to depict the brown tones or the shade on the reverse side of the mask. There are two holes at the top with small rope/string for hanging it up.
The mask measures 10 inches from the bottom edge to the top edge (measurement was taken on the back side of the mask). The mask measures 8 7/8" across the back part of the mask. Measurement from the bottom part on the front to the top edge of the front is 14 1/2"
This remains in very nice condition.
