This auction is for a nice
Akai GX-747 Reel to Reel tape Deck
.  This machine is in VERY GOOD WORKING condition. The heads are in great shape and have been cleaned and
demagnetized.
I tested the deck and all functions work including: play, FF, REW, pause, record, tape counter, UV meters, both speeds and reel sizes work, cue review,  play in both directions, auto shut-off at tape end and rewind.  Please see video for the deck in action.  The deck is smooth and quiet - no hiss or squealing that's common on some RTRs.
The wooden panels were cleaned and in great shape. The faceplate was cleaned and polished as well. The only flaw that keeps this from being in EXC-mint condition is at the power button where the original owner must have marred the finish, as there are three (3) touched up spots evident in photos.
However, I think having the
original AKAI dust cover
makes up for this issue.
The hubs and Scotch metal reel are not included in the sale.  I will include one metal take up reel, however.
