    Description

Spurgeon, C.H. related. The present letter is addressed possibly to G. Holden Pike (?). Henry Hanks, author of the letter, was a trustee of the Metropolitan Tabernacle and is discussed in various Spurgeon biographes. He here, dated to 1898, so after the period of Spurgeon's leadership, says that he will not be able to attend on account of his deafness (which is underlined ) and that his help would be rather unwanted as he has not even been able to attend services on account of his health. His disappointment is quite touching as he notes This loss is a painful, mysterious Providence. 4.5" x 7.25".
    Comes with photo and pamphlet
