ANTIQUE MEXICAN CARVED WOODEN JAGUAR MASK - FOLK ART

Description

This antique Jaguar mask is hand carved and hand painted.  A layer of gesso was applied over the wood before it was painted.  The ears were nailed in and painted.  It was probably used for fold dances.  It measures about 13 inches tall, 8 inches wide and about 6 1/2 inches deep.  It shows wear and needs cleaning.  It was purchased in Mexico and has been in my family since the 1960's.  I try to accurately describe the items I list.  Will send more photos upon request.
