ANTIQUE MEXICAN CARVED WOOD DANCE MASK - OLD MAN

Description

This hand carved, hand painted mask feels like it is out of balsa wood because it is extremely light.  It is of an old person's face and was/is probably used in traditional dances.  It is definitely vintage and may be antique.  This particular mask was purchased by my family in the 1960s.  It needs cleaning and is a wonderful example of primitive Mexican Folk Art.  It is 8 inches tall, 6 inches wide and about 6 inches deep.  It has had polliyo (wood beetles) in the past which is why it has little holes in it.  I try to accurately describe the items I list.  Will send more photos upon request.
