Antique Landers, Frary & Clark Food & Meat Chopper No. 1, complete and functioning, in original box with instructions and parts order form.
Landers, Frary & Clark, based in New Britain, Connecticut, introduced this chopper -- which is more accurately described as a grinder -- in 1897, and images of the original model look no different than this one, likely purchased 50 years later.
This chopper belonged to my paternal grandmother, who maintained her household from approximately 1920 to 1965. On one end of the inner box, there is a red stamp that reads “7 27 58,” which could indicate the date on which this particular item was manufactured.

Items are stored in a smoke-free environment.
