1880's Victorian Stanton Wisconsin Memory Autograph Book ~ To: Maggie, O'Bryan / Walsh Genealogy
Great piece for the genealogy for anyone doing family work and history in the Stanton, St. Croix County, Wisconsin area. Although I'm not sure of the recipient's last name her first is Maggie. Perhaps short for Margaret.
From what I can gather in this pretty antique memory book is that 'Maggie', the addressed young girl throughout has cousin's named Walsh and O'Bryan (O'Brien). So hoping this will help with genealogy or family research.
Wonderfully clever sayings on every page. Written by family, friends, teachers and Maggie's Pastor...Rev. W. Fardy (Research finds him -- Stanton. St. Croix County St. Bridget's Diocese). Absolute treasure trove for the genealogist or family history buff.
Measuring approx. 4.5" by 7". Lovely penmanship and then again some less educated writings. Some calligraphy. Some of the folks came from Ill, Mo. etc.
Very good condition with slight bumped corners and showing mild rubbing and wear to spine. Still considered very good for this era.
