    Description

This is a very rare 1795 Flowing Hair Half Dime. It is identified as a LM-10 variety, with a large die cud on the obverse running from the T in LIBERTY above the top star on the right. Liberty's bust is nicely outlined, with a good amount of hair detail remaining. Her eye, nose, mouth and ear are all clearly defined, a majority of the stars can be seen and most of LIBERTY is showing. The reverse of the coin has been smoothed and re-engraved as a love token, with a stylized M along with an ornate design carved into it. The reeding can be seen faintly along part of the edge. The coin also was holed at some point, likely to be hung on a necklace.
